Fostering Friends

Since 2000, Fostering Friends has served approximately 1,400 teens between the ages of 18 to 21. Fostering Friends was created to help emancipating foster teens make the transition from foster care to independent living. Assistance League member volunteers partner with local agencies to provide teens with clothing for school and work. Duffel bags are provided filled with essentials for independent living. Member volunteers mentor and reinforce positive choices as part of this program.

Vision Statement: Improve lives of residents in Santa Barbara County by providing financial, educational, and social support to children and adults in need.

Mission Statement: Assistance league of Santa Barbara is a nonprofit all-volunteer organization that develops and implements programs to benefit children and adults in Santa Barbara County.
